Masters 2017

The annual Masters Tournament will he held in Augusta, GA, at Augusta National Golf Club. This club also plays host to the PGA tour, the European Golf Tour, and the Japan Golf Tour during others times of the year. The tournament will begin on Thursday, April 6th and run through Sunday, April 9th. This is the 81st event of its kind and is the first major professional golf tournament of the year. This event will feature some of golf’s biggest names, along with some new guys who are expected to do well and give the experienced golfers a challenge for the win.

For those who are unfamiliar with the Masters Tournament, its important to note that is has the smallest field of the four major championships. The tournament is officially an invitation only event, but there are several ways for golfers to participate. Those who qualify as amateurs must remain as such on the starting day of play to be eligible. Other qualifiers come from some of the following categories: Past Masters Champions, Winners of the Last Five US Opens, Winners of the Last Five British Opens, Winners of the Last Five PGA Championships, and Winners of the Last Three The Players Championships. There are also several other qualifying categories.

Some of the most well known names who are expected to play are in Masters 2017: Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Zach Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Webb Simpson and Jason Day. As for amateur players, the list includes: Curtis Luck, Scott Gregory, Toto Gana, and Brad Dalke. There are some other favorites who can also be expected to compete like Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, Fred Couples, and Larry Mize. Many of the professionals have one or more wins in this tournament are looking to add another win to their list.

The Masters 2017 Tournament is one that most golf fans and players look forward to as it is one of the biggest events of the year and the first major tournament of spring.
